Is Flomax Really Helpful in Treating BPH?



Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy or BPH is one of the condition in which very common to aging male. Benign prostatic hypertrophy is also called or referred as enlargement of the prostate. Older men are more expose to this condition. Increasing in the level of male hormone called testosterone is the one responsible for BPH. BPH progress slowly. Usage of this is highly prohibited if you are taking Hytrin, Cardura, and Uroxatral. This product is in capsule form and the storage should be in a polyethylene container that is orange in color. The capsule is 0.4 mg. You are also discouraged to drive when you are under Flomax therapy as taking of this can cause thinking impairment and slow alertness. You are also discouraged to drink any forms of alcohol. Hypotension is the result of overdosing this medicine. So, it is very important to follow the correct dosage. The patient is advised to report to the physician any history of allergies while on the Flomax therapy. Vertigo, dizziness, feeling fainted when standing is also associated with the use of this drug. Patient is also discouraged to use heavy equipment and machinery. Priapism is also reported while using this product. Priapism refers to pain in the penis when erecting. This sign is very crucial as this may lead to irrevocable damage to the penis. So, it is very important to tell your health care provider urgently when you are experiencing this symptom.

Flomax is tolerable for majority of the patients, however, there are some reported side effects associated with the usage of this product. These side effects are easy fatigability, runny nose, vertigo, diarrhea, sore throat, insomnia, and even sleepiness. Ejaculation problem is also reported with the use of this drug. Most patients have difficulty ejaculating and retrograde ejaculation. This retrograde ejaculation happens when ejaculate goes to the bladder instead of the normal way which is coming out of the penis. It is important to seek medical attention if you reported overdose of this drug. Store the drug in a room temperature and discard the drug properly.
